I had this fantastic day out on a really hot summer’s day in 2008 given to me and my mum and dad by “The Dream Team” . It started with an executive car ride to Sheffield Station where we travelled first class in a “Special” train.
We had three great meals as you can see from the breakfast we had. This is mine, not dad’s! After that I relaxed and enjoyed the ride to Carlisle.
During the break there we looked round the town and mum and I went on a roundabout and we all listened to the band playing WW2 songs.
Then it was time to return to our train for a south bound steam over the hills and back to Sheffield.
Like everything else the scenery was fantastic!
It was just a pity that the day had to end!
